crossed_feetDo you have foot problems that are causing your feet to look deformed? Do you experience burning heel pain when you walk? When you exercise, do you have to stop because your knee, hip or back pain won’t let you continue? It doesn’t matter where you live, how old you are, or the physical activities you do. It’s estimated that nearly 45% of people have a common problem causing them foot and body pain, and it’s probably something you have never even heard of – misaligned feet.

What are misaligned feet?

Think about the way you walk. When you take a step, do you notice that your foot rolls slightly inward? If so, this is called over-pronation. When your feet are aligned your ankle bone sits directly on top of your heel bone. The front edge of your ankle bone slightly overlaps the front edge of your heel bone. There is a naturally occurring space in between these two bones called the sinus tarsi.

When your feet are misaligned, the ankle bone slips off the heel bone, falling forward and out of line, causing the sinus tarsi (the naturally occurring space just below your ankle joint) to collapse and your feet to excessively roll inward.

What do misaligned feet do to your body?

You take an average of 5,000 to 10,000 steps a day! When you stand on feet that are misaligned, it causes a chain reaction of misalignment throughout your body. Your body ends up being forced to compensate by putting excessive strain on your ankles, knees, hips and back, which leads to the chronic pain you may be feeling in any of these areas. Not only does this pain physically hurt your body, but it can also keep you from doing normal, everyday activities and enjoying an active lifestyle.

What can you do about misaligned feet?

The good news is that misaligned feet can be easily corrected with the HyProCure® stent. This revolutionary treatment is a minimally invasive outpatient procedure that works by placing a small titanium stent into the naturally occurring space between the ankle bone and heel bone to stabilize the ankle, keeping it from rolling inward and putting your feet back in alignment. Once your feet are aligned your body will be aligned too.

HyProCure® is safe for people of all ages, FDA cleared, and an effective way to correct foot problems like misalignment and related secondary conditions. Patients can expect a quick recovery time – you’ll be back walking in your close-toed shoes within 3 to 5 days and the natural joint range of motion in your foot will be restored.
