In the wake of the recent storms that have turned the lives of East Coasters upside down, Adler Footcare would like to draw special attention to the health hazards, as reported by CNN, that may be affecting those whose homes and lives have been hit especially hard.

In addition to pulmonary problems, such as coughs, bronchitis, and asthma caused by toxins, mold and dust, foot problems can also be an issue. As people return home to salvage what they can and begin to clean up their homes, they more often than not have to wade through unsanitary water that sewage has seeped into. Any kinds of cuts or miniscule tears in the nail bed can let in bacteria from the toxic water and lead to infection.

Whether you’re aware of it or not, your feet go through a lot too, and it’s important that you take care of them so that you can focus on getting back to normal. If you or a loved one is experiencing any kind of foot issues, we encourage you to go see your podiatrist or health care provider right away. If you do not have a podiatrist in New York, our staff at Adler Footcare would be happy to help you. Just Contact Us to schedule a consultation.
