health_goalsA brand new year is upon us, which means you’re probably setting goals to better yourself. Well done. The top 3 resolutions of 2015 were: lose weight, get organized, and spend less, save more. Approximately 64% of people don’t keep their resolutions past the first month. Why do you think that is? There’s a plethora of excuses out there as to why, but when it comes to losing weight it could be that people physically can’t exercise anymore because they are experiencing chronic foot pain.

The key to goals is making them actionable, attainable, and measureable. Otherwise, how do you know when to celebrate your achievements? If one of your goals this year is to lose weight, get healthy, etc. don’t let foot pain be an excuse.

What’s Causing Your Pain

It’s hard to take action against something if you don’t know the cause. Your foot pain could be emanating from a number of common problems such as:

  • Bunions
  • Flat Feet
  • Hammertoes
  • Plantar Fasciitis
  • Misaligned Feet

When you have the flu, you usually call in sick to work, drink some fluids, get some cold and flu medicine, put on your pjs, and rest. If you don’t take care of yourself, your flu might get worse. The same is true for foot pain. If you don’t take care of it, it will only get worse. There are ways to manage the pain, but ultimately you want it gone for good so you can take action on your goals – whether that’s running a marathon, losing weight, or finding a consistent gym routine.

Ways to Treat Your Pain

The good news is there are ways to treat your foot pain that are almost as simple as taking the over-the-counter medicine to treat your flu.

Minimally Invasive Surgery – this is performed by making a very small incision using small jeweler-like instruments. It causes minimal scarring, a quicker recovery time, and significantly less trauma than traditional foot surgery.

HyProCure® – this procedure uses a minimally invasive technique to place a small titanium stent into the naturally occurring space between your ankle bone and heel bone, keeping the ankle bone from rolling in excessively, and ultimately alleviating a number of common foot problems caused by misaligned feet. The procedure is quick and effective. You’ll leave the office in a walking boot and be back walking in your own shoes within 3 to 5 days.

Stem Cell Therapy – stem cells are unique because they haven’t yet determined their role in the body and have the ability to turn into anything. Whether it’s a new bone, ligament, or tendon you need, stem cells will regenerate new bone, ligament or tendon. They are used in combination with other treatments to help patients experience less inflammation, minimized swelling, more range of motion and less post-operative pain. In many instances, healing even occurs twice as fast.

Toenail Fungus Laser Treatment – if you have ugly, discolored toenails you may have a toenail fungal infection that can be treated by shining a laser light beam directly on the nail, penetrating through and killing the fungal pathogens embedded inside.
