boy_eating_chicken_noodle_soupWhen your child is sick you will do anything to make him feel better. Usually a bowl of chicken noodle soup, a day spent watching movies in his pajamas, and some good old fashioned cuddles will do the trick. But when he has a physical limitation that seems to be getting worse – not better – in his short 6 years of life, you become desperate to find a solution.

You first noticed that your son’s ankles looked funny when you were watching him run on the playground at preschool and play tag with his friends. He seemed to run slower and his ankles turned in slightly, causing him to run a little bit awkwardly. At this point, it wasn’t noticeable to anyone else, but you knew in your gut something wasn’t quite right. Still, it didn’t seem to be bothering him, so you didn’t think much else about it.

Fast forward two years and multiple visits to a foot specialist later. Your son has severe pronation (rolling inward) of his ankles. It’s starting to affect his knees too. As you go through your nightly bedtime routine he cries out and complains of foot and ankle pain every night from this condition. Sometimes he wakes up soon after falling asleep because of the pain in his legs. It breaks your heart. As you rock him in his superhero pajamas and read a bedtime story, a tear slowly forms and rolls down your cheek. You wish you could just make some homemade chicken noodle soup to remedy the problem. You don’t know what to do for him.

The HyProCure® stent is your chicken soup.

HyProCure® is a minimally invasive procedure that may be the solution to your son’s problem. The reason your son is crying out in pain every night is because he has severe misalignment in his feet, caused by a faulty foot structure present since birth. When the ankle bone slips off of the heel bone, it creates an excessive inward rotation of the ankle, called hyperpronation or overpronation. In addition to foot and ankle pain, it can also begin to affect other areas of the body, such as the knees, hips and back.

A titanium stent is placed in the naturally occurring space between the ankle and heel bone to correct the excessive inward rotation. The procedure is completely safe for a growing child because the bones that surround the naturally occurring space in the ankle are not limited and will continue to grow.

Of course, you only want the best for your child and probably have questions. You can breathe easy knowing that HyProCure® is an FDA cleared procedure, causes minimal pain to the patient, and will have your child walking in normal shoes again within 3 to 5 days.

Imagine watching your son run and play with his friends on the playground, sleeping soundly at night, and his life changed by a simple procedure to correct the misalignment causing him foot and ankle pain. Nothing will slow him down now!
